Calgary Sound Rentals is a complete production company providing audio, visual and lighting equipment rentals for weddings, bands, DJ's, keynote adresses, fundraisers and corporate events. We offer live mixing engineers, band liaison services, equipment reservations, delivery, set up and more. We are proud to provide our customers with high quality audio rental equipment in a convenient and cost effective manner.
Meet The Owners
Kris Benoit - Mixing/Recording Engineer & Web Design
Kris has spent most of his time in the recording studio finding balance in volumes and frequencies. He is the owner of Giant Spheres a company specializing in the creation of original music, sound effects and sound design for theatre projects. He also enjoys tackling web development and design for a broad spectrum of growing business' in and around Calgary.
A graduate of APRA, Kris now teaches "Audio Recording and Production" through Chinook learning services.
He can be found at Broken city on most Thursdays and Fridays mixing or performing with his band "The Dijons."
Amos has been writing music and playing in bands since his early teens. Performing over one hundred shows for thousands of people, he is no stranger to the stage. In 2004 Amos began working for Back Stage Services, in which he assisted audio/visual technicians, artists and production managers in producing a wide variety of events. This educated him on the essentials of how an event is successfully and safely run.
In 2006 Amos became Equipment Rental Manager for Allstar Show Industries. Working closely with customers ranging from first time renters who had little to no knowledge of sound and lights, to experienced concert promoters; he learned that each client requires a different level of service and attention to detail.
Amos continues to mix sound for bands and Dj’s at various clubs in Calgary and he is the House Sound Technician at the Gateway at SAIT, a 1000+ capacity venue. Over the years he has had the pleasure to work with and support acts such as Elvis Costello, Arcade Fire, Sloan, Serena Ryder, Neko Case, Xavier Rudd, Calexico, The Watchmen, Hey Ocean, Daniel Wesley, The Dudes, GOB, Mother Mother, Mishka, Jeremy Fisher, Lindsay Ell, Beast, Woodhands, Secret Machines, Sylvie, Luke Doucet, Cancer Bats, The English Beat, Chixdigit, Mad Cowboys, Pete Seger, Ian Tyson, April Wine, Trooper, Corb Lund and more.
